PRODUCT REVIEW: LUNA, TIDAL AND BLUE MOON FROM SUNDAY RILEY
To all skincare lovers and Sunday Riley fanatics ... here's a little review of all the BLUish products from her line.
Let's start with my favorite one.
Why is this a CULT favorite? Well LUNA uses a powerful retinol oil complex (trans-retinoic acid ester) that targets anti-aging concerns without being harsh on the skin. It improves ALL sings of aging: fine lines, wrinkles, visible pores, uneven skin, age spots, dryness and dullness without causing any side effect like irritation, peeling or redness.
The key ingredients: Blue tansy and German chamomile essential oils—both highly effective In soothing and calming redness and sensitivity.
Why I LOVE IT? Because every time I use LUNA I woke up to YOUNGER skin! pores are minimized, my skin tone looks incredibly even (which never happens because I have pretty big sunspots) and my overall skin looks plumped, calmed and simply way more youthful looking. Plus is the easiest products to use. After cleansing my skin and using and eye cream, I put 3-4 drops onto my palms and gently pressed in. I wait 2 minutes and then, I either use "Good Genes" on top or simply go straight to bed.
This is one of those skincare products I will NEVER be without. True love for Luna . SHOP IT HERE
Now let's talk about TIDAL Brightening Enzyme Water Cream: This is a cult favorite moisturizer and I can definitely see why! To start let me just say the texture is pretty unique. I'll describe it as a fresh gel-cream moisturizer that will delight those who want maximum hydration with minimum heavy-greasy feeling. It's light, fresh and it sinks immediately into the skin leaving a beautiful glow. And yes! It is very hydrating despite the fact it has a water-gel texture.
INGREDIENTS: TIDAL has Papaya enzymes that smooths and exfoliates the skin while alpha-arbutin blocks and slows down the production of melanin. It is definitely a brightening moisturizer.
WHAT I LOVE? The unique Glow this moisturizer gives to my skin.
WHAT I DON'T LOVE? The fact that I needed to mix a few drops of a light oil to make my skin feel completely hydrated.
Now here comes my little disclaimer: I have normal to dry skin but I love emollient/heavier textures. (If i could bathe myself in almond oil every day, trust me... I would). And no, I don't have the driest skin but since I've been using oils for such a long time, my skin is used to drink up lighter textures In a matter of seconds. TIDAL goes on, hydrates, sinks in, leaves a beautiful glow but then I always feel the need to add a thicker/emollient product. Something that leaves a residue... and by residue I mean the kind of sticky residue most people can't stand.
CONCLUSION: I think TIDAL is an amazing moisturizer for oily, combination, normal and dry skin. (Wouldn't recommended for super dry or mature).
Is light, is hydrating and it gives an unique glow to the skin.
Personally I won't repurchase because the texture is just not my cup of tea. But yes! I would highly recommended because despite the fact I had a lot of other moisturizes waiting to be tested, I used TIDAL to the very last end and I truly enjoy the unique glow it gives to my skin. SHOP IT HERE!
Last but not least let's talk about BLUE MOON Tranquility Cleansing Balm: A sugar based cleansing balm with soothing essential oils to calm dry, irritated skin.
INGREDIENTS: Blue Tansy, a key ingredient that reduces the body's response to irritation. If your skin is sensitive or stressed this balm will completely soothe and calm your skin. It also has Cocoa and Moringa butter that nourish and hydrate without leaving a greasy feeling. Oh! And it has a lovely mild white chocolate scent.
WHAT I LOVE? The fact that I can also use BLUE MOON as a hydrating face mask. Yes! Blue moon is not only an amazing cleansing balm, it also doubles up as a hydrating mask if you leave it on for 15 to 20 min.
It does a very good job at removing makeup BUT trust me, this balm has such good ingredients you don't want to waist it by using it to remove makeup. Use it as a second cleanse to cleanse your skin and allow the essential oils (and mild exfoliating effect) to penetrate, soothe and nurture the skin.
APPLICATION: Since this is a hard balm I suggest to warm up the product (rubbing it between your fingers) and slowly massaging it in until it turns into an oil. Removal is super easy. You can add some warm water to your fingers and emulsify it a little before removing it with a warm damp cloth or you can just rinse it off by using your hands and water.
