PRODUCT REVIEW: FAB RETINOL SERUM & RESURFACING LIQUID 10% AHA
Where do I begin ? Well First Aid Beauty has done it again! so spoiler alert ... YES ! I do love both of these products.
Now let's start with retinol and the importance of adding this ingredient to your skincare routine? Retinol is a vitamin A derivative which is consider to most effective ingredient to fight all sings of aging.
WHY ? Well retinol encourages cell turn over which means it boost collagen production to plump the skin and reduce fine lines, it unclogs pores, fights discoloration and refines skin texture revealing brighter, smoother, younger skin.
The down side? Most prescription Retin A can cause side effects like redness, peeling and irritation. And trust me I have experienced that in the past and it took me quite a while to bring my skin back to a normal, healthy state.
THE TWIST? First Aid Beauty's Retinol Serum contains a Skin Saver Complex of Hyaluronic Acid, Vitamins C + E, Aloe, Colloidal Oatmeal, Allantoin and Ceramides that help comfort and nourish the skin. The results? same benefits of Retinol but without causing any side effect or irritation. YES Please!
FORMULA WISE? This serum has a0.25% retinol concentration which means is great for beginners and sensitive skin types. Is not the most potent percentage (available) but it's definitely effective at helping prevent and repair visible signs of aging.
WHAT I LOVE ? Everything, from the cute updated packaging and the airless pump (that keeps all the active ingredients fresher for longer) to the AMAZING effect this serum has on my skin. Every time I use this serum I woke up to smoother, even toned, firmer skin. And the best ... zero sings of redness or irritation. Oh! And one last thing I wanted to mention. My skin is definitely use to more potent formulas and even tho this one has a lower concentration I personally find it still does wonders for my skin. So this has quickly become my current favorite night time serum.
Now let's talk about the Resurfacing Liquid 10% AHA: This formula contains Glycolic, Lactic, Tartaric and Malic Acids that work together to exfoliate the skin and add a beautiful glow .
The joy ... you can absolutely use this resurfacing liquid in the morning after you cleanse you skin. You only need to put your moisturizer on top, then SPF and you'll be good to go. This is fragrance free but I can definitely notice a bit of a citrusy scent. the formula is quite runny and liquidly so it sinks pretty fast and feels weightless on the skin. there's no stickiness which means it definitely wears well under makeup.
WHAT I LOVE? How easy this formula is. Since this in meant to stay put on my skin I can either use it morning or night and be good to go. It's just a quick simple step that makes a big difference in the glow and overall radiance of my skin.
Bye, bye dullness . A total keeper In my skincare stash.
